The Legendary Magic Warriors
I only learned about this months after it had happened. Before we arrived in Japan, the Magic Council had found some of their Legendary Warriors, as they had come to be called. Destiny had put them together, they were friends and classmates. They met Grand Mage Gloria in a park. She looked like an ordinary middle age woman, but she was much more than that. She was old, real old, I guess she was close to 700 years old. Most of the Mage of that time had been trained by her or one of her disciples. It was a surprise to them to meet her, and it was a surprise to her to meet them. The Legendary Magic Warriors were five high school girls. Young, immature, and impulsive. They were all 15 years old. Their names were Andrea, Mai, Kioko, Misa, and Junko. The "girls", as I came to call them, were in denial of their true nature. I wouldn't blame them, some strange woman comes and tells them they were great warriors of ancient times and they have a great destiny ahead of them. A destiny that includes fighting an enemy no one will be able to defeat but them, and other Magic Warriors like themselves. Who, by the way, have not been found yet. It took a lot of convincing, but the girls continue to imply Gloria was just a crazy old lady. Finally, Gloria got mad and broke one of the laws of the Mage. She cast a magic spell, growing the trees in the park to close off the exits. That got their attention. Then, she called upon her familiar, who was a chimera. That convinced them enough to listen. And that's how their training began. Every night after midnight, the girls would go to the park to learn to use magic.
